Faith-Based Children’s Book Read Aloud

A Mother’s Nurturing Love: Reflections from “When I Hold You”

There is something timeless about the way a mother’s love shapes a child’s world. It may not always be visible, yet like the changing of the seasons, that love and care is always present—guiding, comforting, and nurturing along the way.

In my seasonal children’s book series, children discover the beauty of nature—summer sun, autumn leaves, winter snow, and spring blossoms —each season carrying its own lessons of growth and wonder. Threaded through every story is a gentle reminder: just as nature sustains and surrounds us, so too does the steady love of a parent.

This week, I am reading aloud from the touching picture book “When I Hold You” by Ashley Huffstutler, a story that beautifully compares a mother’s love with God’s tender, faithful care. Both may not always be physically present, but their nurturing spirit follows children wherever they go, offering comfort and strength through every experience.

Books like When I Hold You open conversations about love, faith, and belonging—messages that echo the heart of my own stories: Children are invited to see the world as a place where love and nurture is always near.

I'd Love to Hear From You!
Since YouTube comments are turned off, I invite you to share your thoughts right here on Cindy's Corner:

  • What part of When I Hold You touched your heart the most?
  • How do you talk about love and care with your children?
  • Have you found connections between Cindy’s seasonal stories and this week’s read-aloud?

Your reflections help make this space a place where stories live on through conversation and community.

Whether through the turning seasons, a mother’s tender presence, or God’s quiet guidance, love is always there—shaping the journey of every child.
